I honestly do not like boxing myself and believe that 3 words are not adequate but I will try; intelligent, self-aware and kind.
Describe your blog…
My blog is called FEED. I chose this name since a blog is exactly that, feed. I also chose this name because I would love for people to feed off it, in the form of learning.
It is an Activist, Fashion and Lifestyle blog. I post whenever I can, although I would like to post more.
What you want your readers to get from it?
Apart from the fashion & lifestyle aesthetics, I would want my readers to extract information and learn from the writings on my blog.
Why did you start a blog?
As a social activist, my blog was primarily created as a platform for me to write about my opinion on various social issues since I found myself doing this often on Instagram. It is now an Activist, Fashion & Lifestyle blog. Some of my previous posts have been on race & the negative correlation between race and fashion.
Where do you garner inspiration from?
I gather inspiration from my own personal experiences, from the experiences of other people, from the black narrative and from stories which I see/read online. I am a very curious being, therefore I always seek to know and I ask many questions. My curiosity about life contributes deeply to my inspiration.
What are you obsessed with right now?
Clothing in the color shade ‘blush pink’
Words you live by?
I have many different quotes which live within me, but the one that pops up most commonly is
“Everything will be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it is not the end.”
I think these words to myself quite often as they lift me up & keep me positive.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt this year?
I have spent most of the year worrying that I am getting old and that there is not enough time left to accomplish what I wish to accomplish. I recently learned and mentally engraved in my mind that it is never too late.
