I’m just one girl wearing many hats, and I love it.

But here’s the truth: I didn’t always love every single hat I wear.

Some of them? I learned to love. Some of them found me while I was just trying to meet a deadline. Most of them weren’t part of the plan.

Throughout most of my jobs, I was hired as a Graphic Designer,  simple enough, right? But it didn’t take long before the job description quietly grew wings. One moment I’m adjusting kerning, the next I’m behind a camera filming a campaign video. Then I’m uploading website content, writing copy, designing pitch decks, planning launches… and somewhere in between, helping brands figure out who they even are.

And you know what? I didn’t mind.

I didn’t roll my eyes or mumble “not my job.” I leaned in. Not because I had this burning passion for every extra task, but because I was curious. I wanted to figure things out. I liked that when design felt creatively dry, I could hop onto writing or marketing or brand strategy. I liked that no two days were the same.

Sure, it’s frustrating when your job title says one thing but your actual workload reads like a full agency team. You’re the designer, videographer, strategist, social media manager, website fixer, and sometimes emotional support department. But if I’m being honest, that messy mix shaped me well.

It taught me how to think broader. It taught me how to move between roles with ease. And most importantly, it taught me that you don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Sometimes, you just start, and the rest follows.

So if you’re currently in a position where you’re doing the most for the least, I see you.

I know you’re pulling off a 5-in-1 job, juggling tasks that weren’t in the job description, all while getting paid for one title on paper. It’s exhausting, I know. But here’s the thing, you’re gaining something priceless: knowledge, experience, adaptability, and the kind of skillset that will make people remember your name when opportunities come knocking.

So while the compensation might not reflect your effort just yet, the growth you’re building? That stays with you. It’s the kind of growth that quietly sets you apart, preparing you for opportunities others may not even see coming.

And that’s a wrap for this edition of The Creative Corner! If you’re out there doing five jobs under one title, I know it sucks but know that it’s not for nothing, it’s building something in you. Your journey is your own, and every skill you pick up along the way is adding value you can’t always see just yet.

Until next time, keep creating, keep learning, and keep showing up — even in all the unexpected roles.
