Nestled in the heart of Windhoek’s bustling streets lies “The Yoga Garden”, a serene retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. More than just a yoga studio, it’s a place where one can come together, breathe, stretch, unwind, and find moments of peace.

I had the opportunity of visiting the practice, learning more about it, trying out a few yoga poses and engaging with everyone.

Founded in 2022, The Yoga Garden is the brainchild of two passionate certified yoga instructors, Georgina and Nally. They describe their practice as ” a transformative experience that goes beyond physical exercise, embracing the mind, body and spirit in harmony”.

Located on Liliencron Street in Eros (The Village), The Yoga Garden hosts sessions every Monday and Thursday from 18:00 to 19:00, offering a variety of yoga classes including Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga.

Hatha Yoga, a gentle and foundational style, focuses on basic poses and breathing exercises, making it ideal for beginners and emphasizing relaxation, flexibility, and balance. Conversely, Vinyasa Yoga emphasizes flowing movement, allowing practitioners to seamlessly transition from one pose to another while synchronizing each movement with the breath.

During my visit, I had the pleasure of experiencing Nally’s instruction in Hatha Yoga. Following the session, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of yoga, discussing its importance and Nally’s passion for the practice. She highlighted the vast array of resources available within yoga and encouraged everyone to explore and learn more about their bodies through the practice.

The yoga experience at The Yoga Garden was truly one of a kind. Each session felt like a mini adventure, as I explored my body’s capabilities and unlocked a whole new level of serenity. I have never felt so in tune with myself and my health; it was truly an amazing experience.
