“Wanahedaaaa ahhhhh!”
Us at any given time.
Namibian music videos have come a long way — and finally, we’re seeing more artists leaning into authenticity, storytelling, and visuals that make you want to watch more than once. It’s not just about the music anymore; it’s about the entire experience. And with that said, let’s talk about Yeezir’s “Wanaheda”:
Released three weeks ago, this video feels like a breath of fresh, creative air. It’s intentional and visually compelling — the kind of effort we’ve been craving. The set styling in particular stands out; each scene speaks to a careful curation that doesn’t try too hard but still lands. There’s also a real commitment to making sure every frame is clean, cinematic and reflective of something real. Something Namibian.
Since breaking into the Namibian music scene, Yeezir has consistently brought a sense of renewal to the craft. His sound — a smooth blend of RnB and Afrobeats — has found a home especially within Namibia’s Gen Z audience, and his visuals are only cementing that connection.
The “Wanaheda” music video is a mood, a vibe, a calling card for what Namibian music can look like when artists take their time. The direction, the colour grading, the location choices — all echo a young creative who knows what he’s doing and who he’s talking to.
Let’s talk about our favourite scenes:
1. The Mountain Views
There’s something distinctly Namibian about a mountainous backdrop – and in this scene, Yeezir is perched up on a ladder in the middle of the green, styled effortlessly in tones that harmonise with the landscape. It’s calm, it’s grounded, and it’s one of the most visually satisfying frames in the entire video. Perfectly balanced between fashion, nature and flow.
2. Mr. Pretty Vibes
If Yeezir had a signature visual, it might just be flowers. We still associate him with floral moments from the “Pretty Vibes” video — but this time? He took it to another level. Beautiful blooms bursting out of a pretty car, the kind of scene you could pause and hang on your wall.
3. Pretty Girl in Yellow, Reading in Water
Now this one? Cinematic excellence. A beautiful black woman (played by food influencer Ms Bunny), rocking an afro, sitting in a body of water on a chair, dressed in sunflower yellow — and reading a book. It’s unexpected, it’s artful, and it’s exactly the kind of visual risk that propels a video from good to great. The contrast between calm and colour, stillness and movement, makes this scene unforgettable.
Yeezir and his team really gave us something to talk about.
