Namibia is home to a wealth of talent, and the queer community is at the heart of many groundbreaking creative endeavours. These artists, designers, writers, and performers are not only excelling in their fields but also challenging societal norms and advocating for greater acceptance and equality.
In honour of Pride Month, we are shining a light on these incredible people, whose contributions have not only shaped a significant part of the creative scene but have also fostered more inclusion and vibrancy in this space than most others. Let’s get started.

Odette Schimming, what else are you capable of?

He serves as quite the role model, with his exceptional work ethic and amazing talent. We see you, Adriano!
Our Mothers in Drag
When the lights are flashing and the mics are on, we stay seated and leave the performances to the QUEENS of drag. They need no introduction. Gigi Hasarri, Miss Mavis, and Selena Dash are three big names in Namibian Drag. They each carry grace and beauty that is unmistakable and not to be played with. We would love to know, mothers, what fuels the passion and gusto you have placed into your craft?
Shoutout to all the queens who continue to share their magic and sparkle with us on the stage. We see you, and we love you! Have a look at Drag Night Namibia for more!

He combines strength, agility, and grace to create a beautiful blend of fluid movements and emotive expression. His presence in the queer performance scene is a beacon of visibility and acceptance, inspiring others to embrace their true selves and celebrate their identities. The face, the body, the voice, the talent… what other words can one use to describe Le-Clue?

Their eloquence and passion have brought visibility to the struggles and triumphs of queer individuals in Namibia. While significant strides have been made, the fight for LGBTQ+ rights is far from over.
