What are your aspirations in life?

This might not be your typical aspiration, but I think my biggest aspiration is to become someone who is truly happy with themselves. I want to be able to live my life with no regrets.

Talk to us about what you are currently up to?

I’m a student at Stellenbosch University, studying Molecular Biology + Biotechnology. With regards to my work, I was signed to my agency (My Friend Ned) in November 2018, so I am relatively new to the modelling scene. I’m really just excited to see what this journey has in store for me. Being positive and open to new opportunities is what I strive to do.

What has been a 2019 highlight so far?

Considering how difficult it can be getting into this industry, I would say a 2019 highlight so far would be getting my very first gig with GOAL. It was a relatively small job, but being able to experience it was amazing. From meeting the casting director, to going through hair and makeup. It’s an experience I’ll never forget.

Your ultimate model gig?

A short-term goal of mine is to walk in Windhoek Fashion Week, as I see it as an amazing platform in Namibia that is growing. Ultimately, I would like to be the face of a brand that I love and relate to.

3 tips to taking a good picture?

Firstly, it’s a good start to know your angles and how to use the lighting in your favour.

Secondly, be as natural with your poses as you can be. The audience can recognize if you’re uncomfortable. I would say the most important piece of advice I can give is to be comfortable/confident in yourself when having pictures taken of yourself.

Your go-to outfit?

A black pair of skinny jeans simply because it goes with anything, a monochromatic oversized t-shirt and my vans. It’s a quick, simple and easy look to achieve. I always accessorize with a necklace, rings, a bracelet or simply a belt just to tie the whole look together.

Who are some of your favourite international models?

Two of my favourite international models are Reece King and Shae Pulver. Essentially because their style is very similar to mine in terms of the simplicity.

Trend you are currently obsessed with?

As a whole, the trend I’m currently obsessed with is urban streetwear, because I love how anyone can make a look their own and still be confident. It’s so intricate yet really simple and it helps that this style is versatile. It’s easy to put your own little twist on it and still look cool.

Do you have a skin care routine?

I get asked about this a lot and I’m lucky enough to not have many problems with my skin. It’s important to identify what your skin is sensitive to, for example, I can’t do sweets or chocolates otherwise I’ll break out. With that said, I exfoliate atleast twice a week and I wash my face with Nivea Men every day. Both products are for sensitive skin and contain no alcohol.

What can we look forward to this year?

Since I’m just getting started in this industry, you guys can look forward to where my modelling journey takes me and I’m genuinely excited to share my accomplishments and experiences with you. I’m nervous but even more excited to see where and how far I can go.

Honestly, I’m just going with the flow. I don’t necessarily have expectations, I would just say that I’m being optimistic.
