Monochrome took the time to ask the beautiful Nekwaya, beauty enthusiast, blogger, YouTuber and attorney all rolled into one fun-sized person. Born and raised in Oshakati, moved to Cape Town for five years for varsity and moved to Windhoek for work. She loves make-up and beauty, hair and fashion of course. She runs a successful beauty blog called Lipsticks and Afros and also curates a Youtube Channel.
With all that in mind, Monochrome, felt she would be the perfect person to let you guys in on a few makeup, beauty and hair tips for the big day.
Look 1: Winning over your crush
Contrary to what most people think, winning over your crush doesn’t involve truckloads of makeup or skimpy outfits (if it does then you need to re-evaluate your crush…). A flawless face aka flawless foundation and glowing skin, paired with a brown and orange toned eye shadow, wispy lashes and a nude lip make for all kinds of chocolate goodness that your crush will be dying to get to know. Make sure you add a sexy winged liner to set of those brown hued eye shadow tones!
Look 2: Candle light dinner
Bae is bae…and if he is a true bae, he will love you with little to no makeup but he must also love you with a full cake face of make-up. This is your chance to just doll yourself up, get your glam face on and pair a classic smokey eye with a sultry red lip. It calls for the right kind of attention, and a red lip always brings the sultriness out of any girl. Make sure you pair your red lippie with a lip liner to ensure it lasts all throughout dinner.
Look 3: Group dining
Group dining with friends is always a ball and presents another opportunity for one to be bold and play with colour- after all, it’s all in good fun right? Pair an ultra-nude lip with a pop of colour, using a shimmer eye shadow in an eye-catching colour like blue, pink or purple. Take this look up a notch by wearing voluminous falsies to give you that doll-like look. With all of this, you can skip the winged liner and just let the bold, bright colours speak for themselves.
