I’m always so excited for the new year, so much that I start prepping for it in December already. I’d have my goals on my mind already. I’d start scouting for a new diary then already. Mainly because I like to hit the ground running. I love being prepared.
My December was spent working AND spending time with family and friends. I reflected on the year that was 2017 and envisaged my plans for the new year.
Mostly about how I want to be living moving forward. With intent. With self-care. Holistically.
I realized what I didn’t want and made sure I did not bring it with. I wrote everything I wanted and vowed to achieve it.
My mantra this year is to do it all with intention. To live, love and be loved intentionally.
This is why we have dedicated our first issue to new beginnings, turning the page or rather closing the book and starting a brand new one. We asked a few creatives what their 2018 Intentions are and what they are working towards this year.
Mavis engaged a few people to find out what they’d want their 80 year old self to know. Beauty speaks on resetting and refreshing. Emily shares why eating right is just as important as exercise, especially now that we are ALL flocking to the gym. Paulina explores new year, new hair possibilities.
Our cover star Lioness shares a few quotable thoughts on life and how it works.
Meal preps? Do you do those? Find out how you can with Kimberley Krieger.
Basically, our first issue collectively speaks on doing everything right, eating right, planning right, living right. We put this together to help you and ourselves to start the year right.
I hope it’s useful.
I’d like to thank everyone who has read any of our stuff, came to any of our events, shared any of our posts. I appreciate the support you’ve shown to what I had only imagined as a dream growing up. Monochrome is growing into everything I wanted it to be and for that I’m grateful.
My featured image here is of our first two teasers we printed out when we started. We distributed them all over town just so people had an idea of what we wanted to bring. It’s been blood, sweat and tears since then but your feedback and support is what keeps me going. So, thank you all.
Oh ja.
Hi guys,
My name is Betty, creator and editor of Monochrome Magazine.
Thank you so much for reading. I wish you a prosperous new year!
