The Mono team had the chance to chat with Tai to find out what her personal relationship with fashion is and how she has built her brand Tai Exclusive.

Showcasing her work on Pro Model Africas’ On the Ramp show  . Tais’ work was breathetaking and we could not get our eyes off of her garments.

Taimi Sakeus is a 27-year-old proud product of the college of the arts. A full-time fashion designer who breathes, eats fashion.

The fashion industry is a powerful platform that can be used to help anyone who wants to empower themselves. In Tais’ humble opinion, it is about building skills and knowledge to understand the industry, leverage opportunities, expand their clientele and through that, create more jobs. She continues to express that she has deep respect for the incredible power of fashion to elevate the lives of women and men, to give them a voice and capitalise on it.

When asked what came to mind when the word Feminism popped up anywhere, she responded with such grace.

First thing that comes to mind when I see or hear the term feminism, is us, as women have equal rights as men and vice versa, to stand up for ourselves and do what is right for our country.

Fashion is indeed a great forum and medium for exploring feminism. Fashion designers are incorporating it into their collections these days. Advocating for feminism through fashion is so refreshing and inspiring. It is so beautiful to hear and see people speaking up for their rights.

As an emerging fashion designer in Namibia, Tai, would like to put her business and brand on level that attracts people form all over the world. Inspire and motivate young people to venture into entrepreneurial skills.

She will also be adding menswear to her empire.
