Summer bodies are made in winter. That’s what they said. This is why we dedicated our May issue to reminding us of what we should be getting up to this winter, which is getting/staying fit.

I like to think I’m a very disciplined human being, from my work, to my morals and values; my only problem with discipline comes with what I eat, drink and committing to a fitness regime. If you are like me, you’ll be happy to read about Emily Kandanga’s Sweat Fitness and why, you and I both, should probably join them and go to their health talks.

If that’s not motivation enough read our cover story with Maria or our feature with the OG Fitness Queen Robyn Nakaambo. They are body goals, if that doesn’t get you off that couch then I don’t know what will.

If you do decide to head to the gym though, read Njekwa Mwamba’s take on the unspoken gym rules you should probably know. If you’d just like to work out at home like I do (when I do) look at these fitness/health apps you too can download.

When that’s all said and done. Body goals achieved, we slay.  Check out our fashion features on Leefa Shikwa, Salshi and SynEdgy.

We are 5 months into our monthly issues and it’s been fun and tough in the same breath. We’d like to hear what you think of our content, if you have any comments and suggestions you can email me at betty@monochromemagazine.net.

We’d like to grow and get to a point that allows us to create content that speaks to everyone. Which would mean we need a bigger team. We are not where we want to be content and financially, so if you would like to join our team and help us achieve our common goals, feel free to email me too.

Anyway, it’s bigger and better always.

Till next month,

Betty Sibeso
