There comes a time when one just wants to feast on pap and *omboga or maybe just drink *omaere straight from your grandmother’s calabash in Opuwo, the need to indulge yourself in traditional food.

African cuisines have been around for long, recipes that have been passed on from one generation to another. African cuisines are linked to a specific culture and many African cultures takes pride in their cuisines like the Nigerian people do in their famous Jollof rice or the Ethiopian people who take pride in their coffee. Depending on where people are situated this will influence what they eat/consume.

Namibia has a total of 14 ethnical tribes who come with their own cuisines these tribes can be identified by their respective food, like for instances the Herero people are well known for the love they have for Omaere, and the people from the Zambezi region the love they have for the Tilapia fish which they serve it with chishungwa (spinach) and pap.
