“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand” – Albert Einstein

What would the world be without creatives? It would probably be black and white.

Creatives are individuals who portray beauty in things that the ordinary human being could never think of seeing, we can say that the creative add beauty to the world.

Muremi Jomosono is a Senior Animator at the digital media company, InTouch Interactive Marketing, the self-taught Jomosono fell in love with the art of creating illusion of movement through images at a young age. As much as he works in a corporate environment Jomosono believes one cannot constrain a creative, you will need to give them space and freedom they need.

“Working as an eight to five creative comes as a blessing and a curse,” says Mathias Ricardo Graphic designer/Cinematographer and Film Editor at Namibia Media Holdings, the ability to work for an amazing company with great people is a blessing as you are always open to learning to new things in such an environment, the downfall as a 8-5 creative is the pressure that comes with it, working under pressure prevents some creatives from fully displaying their creativity.

Never stop being creative. No matter how hard situations get at work, keep that fire burning. If you feel your working environment is not good for your spirit, leave and work on your own. –  Mathias Ricardo.

Graphic designer and photographer Absai Haiduwa’s advice to anyone who wishes to pursue a career in this field is that besides being a creative thinker you should always believe in yourself, creatives should always try to associate themselves with individuals who have experience in that profession so that you are able to cultivate the knowledge from them and at the same time look for inspiration.

Are you an 8 – 5 Creative? How do you cope with the pressure? How do you sustain your creativity? Are you happy in the setting you are at work?
