We are making our own rules this summer with the newly launched (in Namibia) single grain whiskey, Haig Club. Designed to be different, stylish and modern, the sweet and smooth drink is one we can’t get enough of.
We were fortunate enough to be present at the well put together launch last month, that saw the cool and glamorous kids of Windhoek come together for great night of laughter, music and great whiskey. Held at The Hilton Hotel, we danced and socialized our night away courtesy of Haig Club. Which is why we have made this wonderfully smooth and enjoyable whiskey our summer party drink.
We’ve rounded up 3 cocktail recipes you too can try at home:
1. HAIG CLUBMAN & COLA
The sweet, vanilla flavour of Clubman combines perfectly with the sweet caramel of cola to create a refreshing drink with a vibrant, smooth finish. Clubman and cola is the classic whisky drink that’s popular around the globe and is also enjoyed with cherry or vanilla cola.
Ingredients:
- 25ml Haig Club Clubman
- Fill to top with Cola
- Slice of lime
- Alcohol content: 8 grams

2. HAIG CLUB ORANGE AND TONIC
The Haig Club Orange and Tonic otherwise known as H.O.T. is a refreshing whisky mixer with tonic and a slice of orange. Prepared in under a minute, this is a very easy to mix delicious cocktail. The sweet notes of Haig Club combine perfectly with the bitterness of the tonic and the fruity orange notes round off the drink in a delightful way. This cocktail is definitely a crowd pleaser!

- 25 ml Haig Club Clubman
- Tonic
- Ice
- A slice of orange
- Contains 8 grams of alcohol

3. HAIG CLUB SCOTCH CITRUS COOLER
The Scotch Citrus Cooler is the perfect whisky highball for a warm summer day. The smooth gentle flavour of Haig Club combines perfectly with the sweet honey and the refreshing sprite. The cinnamon stick adds a little touch of spice. Surprise!
Ingredients
- 25ml Haig Club
- 75ml Sprite (or lemon and lime soda)
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 cinnamon stick to garnish
- Alcohol content: 8 grams
