2018 may have felt like the longest year for every one. So much happened this year; Listerioisis, Black Panther, the World Cup…. a lot. And that was just world events. Even more or less happened in our personal lives. Good and bad.

Some of our readers share what the year 2018 taught them.

2018 taught me patience and manifestation through energy. It taught me pain and healing, this year the universe taught me how to attain peace within myself. Growing pains come in different forms, even if it is isolation meant for creative invention, or the re-invention of yourself. The most important lesson 2018 taught me, was failure does not always mean the end, because just like karma, opportunities and ideas re-manifest to anyone who looks for them.

2018 has taught me that we do pay for wasted opportunity. That one time you let something pass because you procrastinated about it or had a dolce far niente moment; you slipped up. But the good thing is life comes full circle – that same opportunity will reappear, so grab it with both hands next time.

2018 taught me:

– That courage is more about sitting down and listening, than standing up and speaking.

– The importance of a healthy mind and a healthy body.

More than anything, 2018 taught me that life really is a wheel that will always keep turning. Whether you’re at the bottom or the top, keep your focus on your own mission and never worry about where anyone else is at. Also, 2018 showed me that hydration is part of a good skin routine. Basically, 2018 taught me to drink water and mind my business.

What 2018 has taught me, first thing, it’s very important to open yourself up and ask for help. You can’t do it alone and people can only help if you’re open to receiving help. Secondly, part of embracing the law of sowing and reaping is balancing patience and persistence, while keeping in mind that to reap you have to outlast. You can draw a lot of strength from that.

‪This has been such an amazing year. It Opened up true happiness for me. If there’s one thing this year has taught me though, is to live my truth and live in my own timeline as it was set out for me. Nobody can take your timeline away from you, they might be able to shift it a little, but that’s all got to do with how worthy and strong you think you are of your own life, but even if shifted, somewhere along the line you will find yourself again.

‪2018 was truly a year that showed me so many firsts, and that it is never too late to have firsts at any given time.

‪Live you, be you, set sights on you only.

P.S a baked good a day makes the soul smile.
