If I had my way I would stay indoors all winter long, only for the fact that I can snuggle up in front of the tv, with snacks, a blanket and the remote just an arms reach away.
Unfortunately there’s this thing called LIFE and we have to live it. Although winter is a great opportunity to pile and cover up from head to toe, it can cause a strain on our skin, leaving it dry, flaky and irritated, so here are a few tips to beat that and still have your glow.

1. LAYER LAYER

Just as you layer your clothes, do the same with your skin. add serums to your routine. Don’t skip that SPF. Just because you don’t see the sun,  doesn’t mean it’s not there, applying an SPF is great against premature ageing and keeps skin looking radiant.

2. TURN DOWN THE WATER TEMPERATURE

YES YES , you read right. Hot water and your cleanser does not work well together, this strips the skin’s natural oils as thoroughly as hot water + dishwashing detergent cleans the grease off your plates. Squeaky clean is great for dishes but not so much for your skin. (In winter)

3. CHANGE TO OIL

Adding a few drops of ESSENTIAL face oils to your go-to face cream or moisturizer can save you a lot in this winter by boosting the skin. Try these:
-CARROT SEED OIL
-LAVENDER OIL
-NEROLI
-ROSE
-TEA TREE
-YLANG YLANG

3. SKIP THE TONER

Astringents contain alcohol. This absorbs your natural oils, it’s great for other seasons when you’re more prone to sweat .

4. DRINK MORE WATER AND EXERCISE

It helps with hydration and keeps the skin moisturised from the inside out.

5. BUFF UP AND GIVE DRY BRUSHING A TRY

This is great for removing dead flaky skin cells, it also aids in blood flow and circulation. Cellulite reduction and exfoliation.

6. LOVE YOUR LIPS, FEET AND HANDS.

Constantly moisturizing and lightly exfoliating those areas can go a long way. Always keep a go to cream and balm in your bag at all times.

7. PAMPER YOURSELF

Yes, book that massage, facial or nail session. With treatments there to cater to you during winter you have no excuse to try out a hot stone/ hot oil or candle massage, paraffin wax hand or foot treatment. All these to keep you warm yet care for your skin, altogether.

DON’T LET THIS WINTER LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY, APPLY THESE TIPS WITH YOUR ROUTINE AND KEEP THAT SKIN RADIANT ALL WINTER LONG.

P.S If you never used face oils before, consult a professional on what would best suit you.
