It’s chilly outside and we are religiously looking for ways we can stay warm AND stylish this winter. This week we asked aspiring model, student and social activist Petelina Frans to show us a few fashion tricks with her favourite denim jacket. See what she pulled off!

All Black (kind of)
For me, mixing denims is right up there with wearing all black, I absolutely love it! For this look I styled the denim jacket with a pair of distressed jeans (my mom says they’re torn but what does she know) and, to at least pretend I know what season we’re in; a turtleneck. I thought I’d opt out of a full black look and complete the look with a pair of red lace up heels.
The Denim Jacket and the little black dress
Everyone knows the little black dress is a closet staple but to me it’s a closet life saver because it makes my student life so easy. I can easily switch whatever kicks I’m in that day with a pair of heels and go from day to night without looking like a the complete mess that I usually am.
Denim on denim
If there’s one thing that goes well with a denim jacket it’s a pair of converse. I paired the jacket with my favourite skinny jeans and in an attempt not to pull a Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s 2001 AMA denim disaster wore a simple tank top with my matching GL cap, making it easily one of my favourite looks.
Lazy Denim
If you know me, you’ll know I’m always looking for ways to look homeless chic. In other words I’m always trying to be as comfortable as possible. I pulled my most comfortable pants, a long sleeved crop top, my Nikes and threw the denim jacket over it to pretend I put a lot more effort into how I look (especially on campus).
Denim night out
There are a very few things you can add on to a midi dress that won’t completely throw it off but you can never go wrong by pairing it with a denim jacket. Add a pair of lace up heels, big hoop earrings and you’re set for a night out. Hopefully, it’s not a cold night out.
