December is always a very spiritual time for me. It’s a time I strongly feel the presence of the Divine. A time to reflect on what was and what is to become.  It’s a time of endings and goodbyes. A time to take one last look back before embracing the full force and vitality of the New Year.

For me; 2017 was a year of darkness. A year of embracing fears and confronting your worst nightmares. The economy stagnated to such an extent that dreams lay stillborn in our collective unconscious. Businesses closed. People were retrenched. Friendships end without apologies. It was a year of desperation. Desperately trying to hold onto what was familiar and safe, but failing miserably.

A year society was pushed to the limits of darkness, to confront ourselves and all that we have become. We had to arrive at our breaking point in order to birth our new selves. To be reborn, renewed.

In the great Hermetic philosophy, the principle of rhythm rings true.

It states; everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.

If that is any consolation; I know that its darkest just before the dawn. That once we have reached the depth of darkness, light starts to emerge.  That hope grows between the cracks of fear and despair.

Whatever you lost in 2017, bury it. Mourn it. Allow yourself the pain required to breakdown. For it is through this pain that you will rebuild your life; better, stronger, brighter than you ever thought possible. Today I look at myself in the mirror and admire the woman I have become. An Heiress.

I believe and hope 2018 will be a year of newness. New dreams. New aspirations. New possibilities. New destiny. The time has arrived to reboot our thinking and usher in a new era. A new way of feeling. Interacting. Loving. Creating. A new way of being.

With those few words, I wish everyone a safe festive season and look forward to continuing on this great path in 2018.
