We are super excited to introduce our new fashion segment: City Style Savvy
We are looking at & for every style-savvy individual from around our beautiful country; from different social, cultural and economic backgrounds. We find out what inspires them and their style.
This month we talk to the small town 20year-old girl from Ongwediva, Penehafa Vaeta. She is a Law student and an aspiring wardrobe stylist and blogger.

Wardrobe Essentials
Phew! There are so many wardrobe essentials, but I’ll pick 5, that I think are basic pieces we all ought to have.
- A white shirt or white t-shirt, these two items go so well with so many things!
- A pair of jeans. I prefer blue jeans, either straight leg or mom jeans.
- A pair of comfortable yet cool sneakers.
- A blazer/denim jacket/leather jacket
- A pair (cool)sunglasses
Travel destination for style-inspo…
Because I haven’t traveled to any destination I’d deem as style inspo, I’d rather share my ideal travel destination for style inspo, that for me would be Seoul in South Korea, the street style there is insane and I would love to be a part of all that vibe and energy.
Best style tip
Style tip would probably be confidence (if that even makes sense), I believe confidence is key to looking great, when you’e sure of yourself, feeling yourself, you look even better. so whatever you wear, accessorize with confidence.
Shopping tip
Don’t take any shop for granted! For as much as you have a favorite shop or shopping spot, do not shy away from exploring other shops, you will be surprised at what you may find.
Latest purchase
Black slingback block heels
Must try-trend right now
Anything tweed/plaid, be it pants, blazers, skirts and even berets, tweed/plaid are making a come back. I specifically want to style tweed/plaid over sized coats and blazers for winter, also, I’m digging the S’17 Balenciaga Triple S trainers, some people are saying that they’re ugly, but I’m honestly infatuated, I would love nothing but a pair to style.
Go-to Fashion statement
A pair of black Culottes I’ve had made about a year ago. I love them because they LITERALLY go with anything, they are ideal for a night out, formal gatherings and even street style.
Favorite shopping spots
The Fix, Cotton On and Edgars
A fun fact no one knows about you
I’m actually really short. 4 feet 9 to be exact. People who don’t personally know me are shocked when they finally meet me
A fashion hack
On wearing Over sized shirts: tuck only one side of your shirt, makes it look really chic and put together.

We also had a chat with Aina Kweyo, a radio personality, hostess and actress. She talks about how New York is a definite travel destination for Style inspiration. She also shares how how one can never go wrong with adding glitter to your warn-out shoes to make them look brand new again.

Wardrobe Essentials
Moody crop tops , floral tops & dresses and over-sized denim. Basically anything that is seasonless and always has a place in your wardrobe
Travel destination for style-inspo…
Definitely NYC , the city is rich in culture, it’s diverse, it’s beautiful, it’s dreamy … everything about New York can inspire anyone about anything.
Best style tip
Show skin strategically! If it’s cleavage don’t show your legs , if it’s leg day don’t show chest. Don’t give the whole shebang at once, they must beg for more. LOL
Shopping tip
Spend within your means! Buy timeless pieces, stuff that don’t go out of fashion instead of trendy pieces.
Latest purchase
Lashes! It’s the first and last thing I buy.
Must try-trend right now
Trench coats. To be worn with anything from bikinis , dresses , denim and pants. Play around with it. Wear it open , button it up , create slits etc. Fanny packs are a MUST.
Go-to fashion statement
Fashion is whatever!
Favorite shopping spots
The Fix . Their vibe is retro and I vibe with that. It’s also ridiculously affordable.
A fun fact no one knows about you
I am a comedian at heart.
A fashion hack
Cover up your worn out shoes with glitter, it adds a sparkle and makes them look new.
