Undjee Reggie Zaire better known as Reggie Films is here to stay.

Born in New York City, USA, now living in Windhoek, Reggie’s work ethic and strides in the industry is what we are here for right now!

Working with music industry giants such as “Sally” Boss Madam, One Blood, Kalux and Monique English proves that the talented videographer has got a pretty good resume under his belt and is making a name for himself in the Namibian music and creative industry.

Monochrome had the privilege of picking the rising stars’ mind, check out what he had to say:

When and where did filming all start for you?

I started film-making back when I was doing my Architectural degree in 2011 because of boredom while studying (I didn’t have much friends in the states and that’s why I was bored). Film-making only really began for me in 2011 when I was exposed to a larger variety of work compared to just my own random projects I used to do.

What sets you apart from other videographers in Southern Africa?

Well, I can definitely say, what sets me apart from other videographers is that I can do a whole lot with a little budget, *haha, yes exactly that. My success mainly comes due to having creative and dynamic videos with almost little to no budget for the film.

Walk us through concept development with a client for a music video.

Usually I do the entire creative process in order to create an idea that works with the budget, but usually after the idea is conceptualized, I have a meeting with the client and we discuss on it and decide if we both agree on the concept.

Your favourite work to date?

This is a hard one, it truly is. This is a tough battle between the Lioness “Sauce” video and the Jaleel “Real Love” video. These were both creatively challenging videos achieved in a budget of sub 9k. Sounds unbelievable I know, a lot of people think the budgets for those two videos were way above that, but we managed to create something special and I’m really proud of those two projects.

What are your thoughts on collaboration in Namibia and beyond boarders.

Well, the bigger picture is first African domination and then tackle the world after, I have already done work for an Angolan artist earlier this year and have a scheduled project in South Africa for an SA artist, so slowly but surely we will get there.

What can and should we expect from you next?

With new equipment coming in, you can only expect even better video coming out from RFC. This will only push us in the right direction to becoming true industry players.
