The mood that is Aina Raiza Kweyo! If you don’t know how much of a great vibe she is, check out this interview with the media force that is Aina.

We have loved seeing her grow into the media personality that she is, from hosting to being a fashion icon in the making. Aina Raiza is definitely one to watch!

So who is Aina-Raiza?

Who am I?

Hmmm… I am a mood!  If the Doritos chips in the blue pack was a person, that would be me. I am a sweet, chili and quirky village girl who loves vintage. In my early life, my parents decided to send me to Windhoek to learn “proper” English and be independent, so I matriculated at Academia Secondary School. Learned a lot in school but never “proper English”.

What essentially would you like to be known for?

I call myself “Hostess with the Mostess”, I set stages and broadcasting stations aflame. People must recognize and remember the name “Raiza” as a broadcast powerhouse.

Have you always wanted to work in media? How did you get into that?

Yes , I always knew I would work in media so after matric, I immediately studied media studies and drama at UNAM were I majored in broadcasting.

What’s your favourite thing about what you do?

Definitely sending S/O (Shout Outs). It makes me look so cool (lol) like I know other cool people .

Looking at strangers straight in their eyes and delivering lines at live events such as “omg it’s soo good to see you” yet you’ve never met this person…that makes them feel special and comfortable. I mean, to touch hearts and connect with ordinary people in an ordinary way through tv, radio or even live is beyond.

What do you get up to when you are not on stage?

Hyping my friend to the end of ages, making noise in family/friends’ WhatsApp groups, practicing TV lines and doing my make up/dressing up to go absolutely nowhere.

What are your career aspirations?

A tv show on Dstv South Africa and Nigeria for all Africans.

A daytime Emmy

Major endorsement deals

You have such a great online following, how important is your brand image at the moment?

Shuuuuu I only post about my career especially on IG, I believe that’s were my next gig will come from… I’m in the process of turning it into a media CV.  I think it’s very important to have a vision for your socials and capitalize on them. Social media is where it’s at right now, I think we should all take advantage of that.

What do you plan to do with the influence that you may have?

I plan to make a good cash dollar from that influence honestly, and use the returns to create awareness about issues I am passionate about such as mental health.

What can we look forward to from the Aina Raiza brand this year?

I am giving you the content you’ve subscribe to this year – (watch my socials). Also, this is my breakthrough year … bigger stages, bigger mic , bigger screens, bigger airwaves.
I am so excited.

What has been some of the challenges you’ve faced with building your brand?

Honestly this economy…  Not having enough money to go to auditions is a nightmare.
Being rejected with no feedback, there is no room to improve ’cause you don’t know how you can do better.

How do you deal with cyber bullying or “haters”?

I don’t deal with them , God does. I ain’t gotta fight, the Lord defends me. I just pray and affirm what God says I am, opuwo.

Best advice you’ve ever received and would like to give to the next person?

You are the sky, everything else is just the stars.

One thing you NEED to do before the year ends, what is it?
