The metrosexual man – with Reginaldo
The dictionary defines the term “metrosexual” as an urban man who enjoys shopping, fashion, and similar interests traditionally associated with women or homosexual men.
Mark Thompson once wrote “Metrosexual man. The single young man with a high disposal income, living or working in the city (because that’s where all the best shops are) is perhaps the most promising consumer market of the decade.”
It’s acceptable for a guy to be fashionable and always prefer to look good without people questioning his sexuality. Much to popular belief, metrosexual men have nothing to do with sexuality.
We had the chance to sit and chat with your favourite, Reginaldo Mar to find out more about his style and to help us define the “metrosexual” man.
On our Radar: ThreadsByIgnacio
This month we shine the light on Ignacio Hanyanya, fashion designer who debuted his collection at @windhoekfashionweek last year.
What I wore to the Queen’s Young Leaders
In December 2017 I was awarded the Queens Young Leader (QYL) for the year 2018 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for the work I do in my country, Namibia. The award recognizes young leaders from across the commonwealth who are doing exceptional work in their communities. The award comes with three parts, the first being a mentorship programme that spans over a year which is facilitated by the University of Cambridge, Comic Relief and the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee Trust, the second being a residential week in Cambridge and the other in London and the third being the award ceremony hosted at Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Deon Angelo the Fashion Brand
The 22 year old Deon Angelo is making waves in the fashion industry of Namibia and beyond and we are ready to watch him blossom into the brand he is constantly working hard to create.
Fashion as an expression.
As much as painting or writing are mediums that allow you to explore your being, your creativity and allow you to tell stories, fashion is that to many. Not the making of fashion, no. I’m talking about getting up in the morning and picking out an outfit. Planning it from the day or week before. Putting together a look to make sure the world sees you the way you want to be seen, albeit the world having over a billion sets of eyes.
Dressing for Success: How your appearance can increase your chances of closing the deal or getting that job
Ever wondered whether the way you dress holds you back from success? Whether it’s a job interview or a business meeting, first impressions are very important. It takes about 3 – 30 seconds to form an impression of another person (psychologists and sociologist can’t seem to agree on the exact time, with some even extending it to 90 seconds). Everything we do after those 30 seconds either confirms the impression or changes it; but naturally, as human beings, we hate to be wrong so we tend to look out for clues that confirm our first impression. As the saying goes, “you don’t get a second chance to make a great first impression” so it’s very important that we create the right first impression.
Body standards in the Fashion Industry
Tall, skinny, svelte and sexy. Those are but some of the qualities designers look for in models or at least that’s what I noticed when I went on to some Instagram fashion pages and noticed their preference.
