As much as painting or writing are mediums that allow you to explore your being, your creativity and allow you to tell stories, fashion is that to many. Not the making of fashion, no. I’m talking about getting up in the morning and picking out an outfit. Planning it from the day or week before. Putting together a look to make sure the world sees you the way you want to be seen, albeit the world having over a billion sets of eyes.

Getting dressed is an inescapable part of our lives and to many it’s more than just getting dressed.

For some, fashion can be an extension of the self, or a way to (re)invent yourself. A style of dress can be a visual manifestation of where one stands, colored by history, culture, emotions and politics. Or it can be an attempt to create a state where the gap between one’s body and one’s inner life feels the smallest. On other end of the spectrum, it can simply be seen as a social norm. – Charmain Li

Just like music and literature, fashion is a form of expression everyone participates in. Whether consciously or not.  The amount of things you can achieve when you feel good because you look good is actually under looked.

Our favorite use of fashion as an expression is when it’s used to support a cause.

Whether purchasing a brand whose profits benefit a charity or just a plain tee that sends out a positive message.

It is winter and a lot of us will be rocking T-shirts under our jackets and coats, so why not try out a graphic tee? Pick one with a message and turn it into A LOOK? Send a message while looking fashionable. Big fashion brands such as Dior are running with this trend. Let’s get on it too.

With the world being in the state that it is in right now, let’s all use our favorite form of creative expression for a good cause. Even if it’s just for a little while.
