Fashion is a cycle. Had we known earlier we’d have kept all our mother’s and grandmother’s clothes and rocked them today.
The prints, the textures, the cut, vintage clothing is what’s in right now and The Sequel Vintage Clothing is here to help us achieve our 60s dreams.
Selma Bachler, founder, town planner by profession and hustler by choice shares a little on how it all started.
What does The Sequel mean to you?
The Sequel means so many things to me one of them being the rebirth of my mom’s clothing business that she ran while growing up as kids.
How did it all start?
It started a few years ago, but officially went public in 2015. Started with friends ‘shot gunning’ my outfits offering to pay for them. Before I knew it, I was hosting The Sequel’s first Vintage Pop Up in 2015, which the customers well received.

What’s your favourite thing about your business?
Being able to introduce an era that once was, through clothing. Seeing happiness on customers faces when they find their gems. Hearing stories of customers about their history with the clothing and what it meant to them then and now.
What are your best selling items?
There is quite a few, the shirts are hot cakes. The vintage dresses. And also the high-waist shorts and denim. Hats and leather handbags.

How can one shop?
We have Vintage Pop Up’s at various venues and but also have monthly pop up at the Windhoek City Markets , which are hosted at The Village on Liliencron street. We also do make provision for private sales and most of the clothing are advertised on our social media page .
