I hope all is well. If not, our topic for the day will probably help you feel better. Today we’re going to tackle what is commonly one of the most frequently posed and probably most important question I get when people want to start training journey.
Hey buddy. How are you today ? Yes I actually asked how you are doing today and I meant it.
The rapid industrialization in today’s world is causing accelerated urbanization and a high degree of environmental pollution, coupled with sedentary life style and stress has given rise to number of health problems.
Committing to a healthier lifestyle often requires giving up some of your favorite sweet or fried treats, that won’t help you with achieving your overall goals. Undoubtedly this is one of the biggest challenges you will face along your journey, because it requires you to give up on food that you actually love and enjoy eating.
Self-care is all about taking the love, attention, time, affection, kindness, compassion and care and directing it inwards; toward the self. Taking good care of yourself entails looking out for yourself by engaging in activities and practices that boost your wellbeing, it’s about being good to yourself in all the ways that you generally would be towards others. Self-awareness is an important component of a good self-care practice as it helps you gauge which areas of your life need more attention and how to better care for yourself.
The World Health Organisation defines health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. That means that our health is determined by our wellbeing that encompasses our physical health, which involves the state of our bodies (how fit we are, how well our organs function etc.), our mental health (how intact our mental processes are, how well we function emotionally etc.) and our social health (how well we interact with others as well as the state of our interpersonal relationships for example).
Remember the never-ending list of things I’ve always wanted to try out? Well, the “oh so glorified” Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) detox had been repinned to my Pinterest board more than once. 7 to be exact: 3 under Hair Care and 4 times for detox purposes.
And just like that, without any hesitation or prior research, I decided to try it out. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?
Predictably exercise and nutrition are common elements on our wish list that are amplified with the dawn of a new year! Understandably most people would like to lead healthier lifestyles, because such changes are likely to positively influence almost every aspect of their daily lives.
