essays compare and contrast examples.

I was once a first year student, and I must say when you’re a freshman in varsity, with over 20 000 students on campus, you become self conscious about your looks. Gone are the days of only 30 classmates and daily school uniform.  If style is a form of self expression for you, it becomes a bit of a struggle to be content with what you have in your wardrobe when you get to varsity.

But as the years go by, you realize, it’s plain and simple and almost no stress at all.

My secret to serving looks on a student budget is simple: RECYCLE!

-Yes recycle.

“I already wore this skirt the other day”, “think I’m running out of wardrobe for the week”, “early morning class & I forgot to prep my wardrobe” is a complain of the past.

Recycling & DIY’ing  your closet is your life saver as a student. It’s cost free, the only expense it requires is a creative mind and well, 5 min of your precious time.

Here are a few of my tips:

  • Bored of your skirt? We’ll recycle & rock it as a boob tube dress.

  • Over-sized T-shirts work well with a pair of jeans, but who says you can’t rock it as a T-shirt dress and some slippers on a hot day.

You don’t need to spend money to look the part. You can make your student budget work for you.

Bad hair days happen to all of us, especially, when you are rushing to that 7:30 morning class.

A tip for when it comes to “No money for the salon”?

Caps and head wraps are your go-to!

Can’t afford them? Then again, RECYCLE is your best friend.

Here’s how:

Caps; There’s always a fun day, promotion etc. going on somewhere. Grab a few and keep them for a rainy day.

I collect those as souvenirs, they always come in handy on a bad hair day.

Headwraps; Ladies! You ain’t got no scarf, why you stressing? Pull out your T-shirt or blouse and rock it as a head wrap (Berny, thanks for the tip)

YouTube is your best friend if you want to know how to style one.

My advice to every student:

Keep it simple and going.

Learn to RECYCLE!
YOUTUBE is your best friend.
Not everyday is a “Slay” day.
Lol, I understand the pressure from society, but it’s okay to let yourself go once in a while.
Remember you’re at school not Fashion Week.

So do not beat yourself up when you have your off days!

And as I always say: you do not need to shop expensive to look the part.

Enjoy your student slay.
