For #MonoHealth this week we spoke to health and weightloss enthusiast Pine Amunyela who let us in on how he went from 117kg’s to 91.6 kg’s in 12 months and how Herbalife played a big role in that.

He also shares a few Pro Tips on how you too could lead a herbalife lifestyle.

My name is Pinehas Amunyela a 28 year old chap obsessed with Herbalife and weightloss. I’m a father to an adorable 7 year old boy and a potential fiancé to this lady from Ohangwena region. I am currently employed as an Assistant Faculty Officer at the University of Namibia. My times is split between the gym, work and school and when I’m not busy with one of those, I spend endless hours browsing meme pages, fitness pages, reading or watching movies.

What is HERBALIFE?

 Herbalife is a leading nutrition and weight management company that has been supporting healthy, active lives since 1980.

Herbalife markets protein shakes, nutritious snacks, vitamins, sports and energy products, and skin and hair care products. Millions of people, many of whom are Herbalife Members or Herbalife Independent Distributors, use and enjoy Herbalife products to support their fitness, nutrition, and beauty aims.

How did you learn about it?

 In September 2016 I ran into a childhood friend and fitness coach, Mox Namwandi. In my early years I had always been a skinny child and after I completed matriculated in 2007 my weight blew up from 79 kg’s to a heavy 117 kg’s by 2012. Mox didn’t mince his words when we had the weight talk. He asked what happened to his friend. Told me that I looked 40 when I was in actual fact 27 and that it was time to do something about it. He invited me to a Herbalife Health Club where I did a body evaluation. The results were so shocking that I had to do something about my weight and as the cliché goes, the rest is now history.

What “pushed” you to making a life change with Herbalife?

 A whole lot of factors actually but the biggest one was I didn’t like the guy I saw in the mirror. I felt I was trapped in a body. I was tired of walking up 5 stairs and being out of breath by the time I reached the top. My belly was so big that tying my shoelaces was a mission on its own. I’d be sitting in a well-ventilated room and be the only one sweating and complaining about the heat. My blood pressure was high, I was depressed, my confidence was at its lowest and I didn’t want to be seen in public. Looking for clothes was a dreadful process, just getting something reasonable would require that I visit 4 or 5 shops just to get something my size. The body evaluation showed that my visceral fat was at a dangerous level and my metabolic age was a whopping 42 years. I knew right there I had to change my life.

How has Herbalife helped with that?

 Man, Herbalife is the truth. If there was a confidence meter it would probably show that my confidence is through the roof. I can confidently walk into any room and flash my signature smile and dimple. My pants size has dropped from size 40 to 34. Shirt size has gone from XXL to Large and I can occasionally squeeze into a medium t-shirt. My blood pressure has also improved drastically. I’ve gone from 117kg’s to 91.6 kg’s in 12 months and I plan on losing an extra 6 kilos. People ask me if I don’t miss the junk, whether I’m happy torturing my body like this but I would honestly rather live a healthy life than be trapped in a body I hate. I feel I have made the best choice ever by choosing the Herbalife way.

How does it work?

In terms of weight loss one would have to replace 1 or 2 meals per day with our products. People have to realise that Herbalife is not a quick fix, it a lifestyle. Besides using our products one would have to live a healthy, active lifestyle, cut out sugar, pasta, fast food, cool drink and any other greasy meals you can get out there. You need to increase your water, veggies and fruit intake as well. A Herbalife basic meal consists of Herbal Tea, Aloe Beverage and Shake Mix. The shake is your food, the tea spikes your metabolism and burns fat and the aloe cleanses and detoxes your body. This should provide you with less than 200 calories of the nutrients your body needs to function. This replaces your breakfast and lunch. In between your meals you could snack on a fruit, Herbalife Protein Drink Mix or Herbalife Express Bar to fulfil your cravings. Water is essential, you need to drink 3-4 litres daily and exercise. To lose weight you need to decrease your calorie intake and use more calories daily. Just don’t starve yourself or skip meals.

 

3 Pro Tips for people who would like to start?

 

  1. The most important thing you need to do is change your mind set. Be open to change. Change your attitude. Give the whole lifestyle change a chance.
  2. Surround yourself with a supportive team. Convince a partner or friend to help you through your journey. Support is everything.
  3. Be committed and consistent and work your behind off. No one will burn fat on your behalf. Stop talking and start acting.

 

How/where does one get Herbalife products?

 Herbalife has hundreds of Independent Distributors in Namibia of which I am one of them. To acquire the products we in most cases require a down payment as we’ve had numerous clients order and never pick up or come pay for their products. One can either be signed up as a Distributor and enjoy discounts or directly order from a distributor.
