Okay so most of my money is spent on food, taking my son out on play dates, buying books and white wine.

For me, stable expenses come down to accommodation, groceries, gym membership, health insurance and savings. Yes, I consider my savings an expense I have got to pay. Otherwise, any surplus money is spent on occasional treats and gifts, or invested towards my travels.
