Hey buddy.

Are you healthy?

I know a lot of times people shy away from answering this question and many of the forms it takes on.

Either because they may be battling something they would most likely not want to share or they may be battling something they aren’t even aware of.

We’ve all been there. For whatever reason it is that you do what you do or respond the way you do is for you to discover, examine and then ultimately learn to control . As with the theme with most of our articles. The point here is to create a more conscious you than the one that read the first two words “hey buddy” .

So how do we answer these questions?

The answer is truthfully.

Sounds simple right ? Well think again. To prove that I’ll ask you how many times have you said that  you’re fine when you really knew deep down that you weren’t? Ask yourself why you did that.

I’m not going to delve too deep into it. That is to you to do the work if that’s the direction in which you wish to take your thoughts and energy. I will say this though. The way you answer those questions will give you a very good idea about where your mental health is.

Why am I talking about all of this?

Well because health is not merely the absence of illness. According to The World Health Organization’s definition of health is

a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

So before you go into the gym running to some music or curling like a beast. You have to be aware of the mental space you’re in too.

Again why is this important?

Easy. Even a healthy coping mechanism can turn into an unhealthy one if not done with an adequate level of consciousness. Crazy right? Yeah

So in conclusion.

Focus on your health (as defined by WHO) trust yourself and listen to not only your body, but also your mind. I mean there’s a reason why the company is called Mind&Body Fitness.
