We are making 2017 our most fashionable year yet. Yes we said this last year too, but we mean it more this time. So to get us all started here are our favourite trends to look forward to this year.
From applique, to slogan tees and full sleeves, here’s your chance to brush up on the major trends 2017 has to offer.

1. Umbrellas:
Let’s admit it guys, we all aren’t used to stepping out of the house with an umbrella. It’s rainy season and when it’s not, its scorching hot and sunny outside. we should now be able to embrace umbrellas in our dailys. This is a trend we hope, will be embraced with open arms.
2. Appliques:
This is art-work that can be laid on any material of your choice but we love this art-work on denim jeans, demin jackets and you handbag. We are obsessed with it. Not only it is easy to attach appliques yourself but this is by far the trendiest thing this year. So go for it.
3. Pleated Skirts:
There’s just something about a pleated skirt. It oozes boldness and fashion forward moments. This is a must have try this year. Go for metallic and gold material pleats (not sure where to find them? visit @lumiere_thestyleavenue on Instagram).
4. Velvet and Suede:
Velvet is such a luxurious material that makes you feel like a million dollars. And who doesn’t want to look and feel like that? Designers have incorporated this rich material in a modern way that we are now able to wear them on a day-to-day. Try incorporating this trend in your wardrobe. Suede has always been our personal favourite and we trust this trend is here to stay for a pretty good 100 years. Everything suede is LIFE.
5. Anything off-shoulder is a must:
Looking for that feminine look this year? Well, single shoulder, asymmetrical shoulders or off the shoulder dresses, tops, blouses are all you should be thinking of getting. It is inspired by those fashion trends of the 80s. Trust, you won’t go wrong with this trend.
6. Fishnets
These are slowing becoming a thing now and we do not want to miss out on this cool trend. It is being incorporated in everyday street style now from socks to leggings and tops. We say try it out and see how it feels adding a little edge to your personal style.
